Description

The BX-120V3-2 has been developed from the BX-100-2 by replacing the steel cylinders sleeves with Nickel-Silicon plating on the original aluminium cylinders. This enlarged the bore and has resulted in an increased capacity and, of course, more power with less weight.

The BX-120V3-2 is without a doubt the flat twin for glider towing up to 20 kilos in weight and for aerobatic models. Even a small silencer makes the BX-120V3-2 an absolutely whispering power unit. With the optional brushless electric starter you have a power unit that leaves nothing more to wish for.

Hans Kolm developed the BX-120V3-2 especially for competition glider towing, he tested the engine in a series of models. The result is an extraordinarily reliable engine for your valuable model.

Nickel-Silicon plated cylinder surfaces, far lighter than steel cylinder liners guarantee high wear resistance

Assembled heat-treated steel crankshaft with Tungsten balance weight inserts

Conrods are CNC milled from high strength steel, and have a spindled bore surface for the big end needle roller bearings

Plain bronze small end bearings

Single camshaft acting on overhead valves by pushrods

A light weight, low inertia valve train allows relatively high RPM

Crankcase CNC milled from high-strength aerospace alloy

Excellent Müller-Microprocessor-Ignition developed by Günter Müller in Germany, now made in Austria by Kolm Engines

Valves and pistons are manufactured at Kolm Engines in Austria on modern CNC machines

Walbro carburetor WT-225

Engine length adjustable by longer and shorter optional prop hubs

Rapid spares delivery and repair service from Germany by Toni Clark practical scale GmbH.

Each and every Kolm engine is tested in the factory and run for thirty minutes. Of this test a detailed proof certificate is supplied.
